Following up with last week, I was able to find at most, three students who were willing to help tutor me both in class and outside of class. Also, this weekend, I was able to download Adobe Creative Suit 4 with Flash included. Now, I have the opportunity to use the program outside of class to finish animatiions that were started in class.
Since I will be receiving tutoring and help outside of class, I have chose not to be with a partner for fear that I will hinder their individual performance in this class. This week, I will be working on my library assignment that involves me finding an animation artist that relates to the style I am going for within my own project and having an oral presentation ready to pitch to the class, allowing me to get positive feedback. Also, I will be refining my storyboard and shot list, making sure that everything flows nicely, is easy understood, the frames are not too long, and has an overall essence that draws viewers in without being too over the top or boring.
My story title is the same as last quarter: "Joey Learns to Walk"
This animation is about a baby kangaroo that is rescued from the wild due to a broken leg and brought to an animal hospital to heal. The roo is then returned to the wild and is given the name Joey at the animal hospital. He remembers seeing the humans walk and tries over and over again to learn how. Problem is solved when a random bird flies down from a tree and shows him how to hop.

Progress 1
Step One- Find an Animation tutor, whether it is a person from this class or anyone willing to give up some of their time to coach me outside of class.
Step Two- Watch numerous tutorials online. Last quarter I did not have enough time to watch any how to's or beginner's tutorials online due to the heavy work load from school both in class and outside of class homework. Also I am a part time employee, so making the time to understand animation is frustrating.
Step Three- Find time to play around with Adobe Flash. Now, that I have purchased Adobe CS4 software that includes flash, I am able to be at home and take more time to focus on the crucial basic foundations towards animating.
So far, I am working by myself and do not have a partner. I am not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing, considering I am a beginner in this field of study. I saved my 2D animation storyboard, written draft, sketches, other flash projects that you had us to do in class from last quarter. As far as I know, I am still keeping my original story called "Joey Learns to Walk." If I decide to change my entire idea, I will definitely let you know. I am not sure how long we have to figure that out, but I am sure that you will let us know. Overall, I am not quite sure how I will go about animating this project, but I will try my best to get the job done and pass this class.
